One of the many special qualities that characterize the people who come to work at McKinstry is a genuine desire to make a positive difference—both at the company and in the community. Across the enterprise, we are moved to share our success with others.
It is McKinstry’s honor to support the generosity of its people through an employee-directed giving program. Since 1999, employees have sent $1.4 million from the McKinstry Charitable Foundation to non-profit organizations across the country.
Every spring, this program makes it possible for each McKinstry employee to direct a designated number of dollars directly from the foundation to a non-profit of his or her choosing.
In the Great Lakes region, McKinstry employees have supported community outreach, environmental causes and education by directing funds to local organizations such as Second Harvest Food Bank of Southern Wisconsin, IOCP of western Hennepin County, Shakopee Community Action Partnership, and many others. Since 2003, McKinstry’s employee-directed giving has distributed $35,000 to charitable organizations in Wisconsin and Minnesota alone.
We are proud to be a purposeful company that believes in building a thriving planet—both through the work that we do and through our philanthropic efforts. It’s a privilege to live and work in our communities, so McKinstry considers it our duty to meaningfully strengthen those communities.
